In my world, there are two passions that run parallel to my accounting career: swimming and DIY projects. With nearly a decade of professional swimming training during my school years, I developed a deep love for the pool. Whenever I search for a new place to live, my first criterion is its proximity to an aquatic centre. Additionally, I spend my weekends as a part-time swimming instructor, relishing the opportunity to share my passion with children.
My fascination with DIY began at a young age, as I tuned my bicycle and fixed broken items around the house. Thanks to Ikea designers and insightful YouTubers, complex DIY projects have become more accessible. As a result, I've amassed a collection of DeWalt power tools and a well-stocked toolbox, empowering me to tackle home renovations myself.
My professional journey as an accountant spans three continents: Asia, Africa, and Oceania. After earning my undergraduate degree in Shanghai, I joined a multinational fishery corporation and was assigned to a captivating project in Mahajanga, Madagascar, an island known for its unique wildlife, especially the peculiar-looking monkeys. In late 2015, I made the decision to further my education and embarked on a new chapter in Australia. It was during this time that I discovered Sydney as the city I had always longed to be in. I pursued my postgraduate degree at UTS and established myself in the public practice accounting sector. Today, I take great pride in being a valued member of the Gunderson-Briggs team and am steadily progressing towards becoming a qualified chartered accountant.
